From City Hall, Coeur d’Alene Clerk Susan Weathers tells Huckleberries: “It may be a little early as I don’t know if the Coeur Group has sent out invitations to the candidates, but at the last CDA TV Committee meeting the Coeur Group met with the committee to go over the plans for a candidates forum to be televised on Channel 19 on Oct. 11.  Specific times have not yet been set. The goal is to have the candidates from the State’s 3 Districts in Kootenai County – 2, 3, 4 for the Senators and Representatives and then from Kootenai County the one contested Commissioners race and the Sheriff’s race.  The CDA TV Committee had heard that the Coeur Group did a great job of hosting such a forum during the last election (complete with instant fact checking of statements made by the candidates during the forum).  The Coeur Group was selected to do the forum for CDA TV because they are a nonpartisan group who does not endorse any candidate or party.” The forums will be aired live that night and then rerun until Nov. 5.
