Cindy: Dunno Much About Math

On her Facebook wall, Cindy posts a familiar scenario (at least for my household):

“My husband and I are both educated professionals, but last night neither one of us could help Sam with his 7th grade math. We gave up and told him he’d have to ask his teacher for help. When he came home I asked, “Did you ask your teacher for help?” “Yeah,” he said. “And then I told him he ruined my parents’ lives ‘cause they felt like failures.”Oh boy. Can’t wait for Open House.”

DFO: I told Junior early on that he was on his own when it came to math and science. His maternal grandfather taught both subjects in high school. I hit my limit at algebra. Science wasn’t much better. Fortunately, Junior figured it out.
