Principal: Parents, Behave Yourselves

Ramsey Elementary Principal Anna Wilson circulated this news release to defuse incidents in which parents picking up children have treated her staff rudely:

At the end of each school day, Ramsey staff tries to ensure the safety of  640 students with our 3:30 p.m. release.  We have safety procedures and protocols in place.  Examples include:  using the car line, coming to the sidewalk to pick up your child, using the crosswalks, etc.  Everyone may not agree with all of these procedures, but they were established by the CdA Police Department for the safety of ALL students.  This past week Ramsey staff has been “yelled at,” “flipped off,” “cussed out” and more for reminding folks of proper safety procedures. Please remember parking lot safety and courtesy when you pick up your child each day.  A response such as a smile and a “thanks for the reminder” set much better examples for our young students if you happen to be one who is corrected.
