End this power monopoly

Hurray for Duane Statler for his Sept. 12 letter about Avista Utilities. Now I find out that I’m not the only one frustrated about constant power rate increases. I have often wondered if, by some miracle, we could regain control of our utility: Take it away from a state-enforced monopoly, Avista, and move it into public sector area.

Perhaps Statler may have some good ideas along this line.
