Leave signs alone

As a proud American voter, I appreciate seeing signs for campaigns around the area. To me, these signs represent the hard work of politicians that want to serve the electorate. When I see a campaign sign it reminds me that there are hard-working citizens who support those candidates.

Therefore, it’s deeply saddening to see vandalized and destroyed signs. These signs are legally posted on private property. It is a crime to vandalize them.

Yet I have seen many signs, particularly those for our beloved Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, bent over and slashed.

This sort of hooliganism must not be tolerated. If we want to be a safe society, that is governed democratically by laws, and not by vandals, we must stand against this destruction.

As a citizen of the 5th District, I have appreciated the excellent work of McMorris Rodgers. I have met Cathy, she is kind and hard-working, and she’s a powerful voice for Eastern Washington. We need to support Cathy, and not tolerate the efforts of lawbreakers that seek to tarnish her campaign.
