McMorris Rodgers stays busy

Not seeing Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers in the district as often as Rich Cowan? I’ll clue you in. Every chance she gets to be in the district she spends working for her constituents rather than just campaigning.

Cathy loves her district and she understands that there is a lot of work to do. Even in the midst of a campaign year she is still focused on her job as our representative. She is continuing to work to create an environment for job creation in Eastern Washington. For example, the House recently passed her hydropower legislation with overwhelming bipartisan support. President Barack Obama recently signed legislation she introduced to streamline the regulatory process for medical devices and life-saving technologies. These two bills increase the opportunity for creating jobs in Eastern Washington.

The 5th Congressional District spans from the Canadian border to the Oregon border. That is a lot of ground to cover, and Cathy does it as often as time allows. In August, Congress was out of session, which gave Cathy the opportunity to visit nearly all 10 counties in the 5th District. She did attend a few campaign events; however, most of her time was spent doing the job we hired her to do.
