Hux Redux: KCSO Office Falling Apart

In this SR file photo from Jan. 13, 1996, Rick Bishop with Kootenai County Solid Waste Department levels a wall on the old Kootenai County Jail and Sheriff’s office. The unused structure is being removed to make room for new buildings in the future.
From my SR clippings 25 years ago: Kootenai County officials are having second thoughts about future use of the soon-to-be-vacant sheriff’s office. They now believe the 65-year-old building is too dilapidated to house additional office space as planned. It probably will be used for records storage and possibly as temporary prisoner housing until the county can determine its long-range office nees, according to Commissioner Bob Haakenson. … Last May, voters overwhelmingly approved two override levies for a combined $902,000 to construct a new sheriff’s office and refurbish the old one for office use/ DFO (April 5, 1988).
Question: Anyone remember the crummy, old Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, with the jail in the basement, that sits approximately where the new wing of the courthouse is now?
