Arrest made in WSU beating

One of the suspected assailants in last month’s brutal attack on a WSU professor is in custody.

The woman, whose identity wasn’t immediately available, was arrested today in Pullman after police received an anonymous tip allegedly linking her to the attack on professor David Warner, who remains in critical condition at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Other suspects still are being sought, said Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins.

The woman is described as being of college age but it was unclear if she’s an enrolled student at WSU. Jenkins said he’s confident that the other suspects soon will be identified and taken into custody.

Today’s arrest comes just a day after Washington State University President Elson Floyd offered a $10,000 reward.Mo re here. Nicole Hensley, SR
