Portland sweep ends Chiefs’ season

Mac Carruth stopped 30 shots for his second shutout of the series and the Portland Winterhawks ended the Spokane Chiefs’ season with a 5-0 victory Wednesday night at the Arena. Portland won the Western Hockey League Western Conference semifinal 4-0 and will move on to the conference finals. Spokane lost its last eight games against Portland, counting the regular season.
