Upset in Coeur d’Alene

In response to the March 30 editorial in The Spokesman-Review:

The reason the majority are supporting Coeur d’Alene City Councilman Steve Adams is because three councilpersons and the mayor ignored our pleadings to not squander $20 million (at first it was $39 million) of taxpayer money to turn the McEuen Field into a parking garage and a dog park that borders Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Adding shrubs and paths and call it a “state-of-the-art” park? Baloney! A park that will benefit who? For sure not the kids that played ball there, and the American Legion.

And the final insult – chopping down the “Freedom Tree” that for 60 years honored veterans – and turning it into park benches.

We are mad, mad, mad here in Coeur d’Alene and may vote against the sewer project. That $20 million would go a long way in sewer plant repair.
