Balance NI Makes Trustee Picks
Balance North Idaho (Balance) today announces endorsement for candidates for the three Coeur d’Alene School District 271’s (SD271) Board of Trustee seats up for election on May 21. Balance selected candidates for endorsement after an interview. Three of the six candidates invited to interview participated: Christa Hazel, Tom Hearn and Dave Eubanks. The Coeur d’Alene School District 271 Board of Trustees is the governing body of the district, responsible for sound policy making, appraisal and evaluation while also ensuring the financial means required for educational programming. Balance took the following into consideration when interviewing the candidates:
- 1. The role of the trustees as policy and governance policy makers
- 2. Respect for and participation in public school for their own families
- 3. Fiscal capabilities and sound management philosophies
- 4. Best education possible for the kids within the district’s means
- 5. Importance of listening to stakeholders
