Huckleberries Hears …
… That the Kootenai County Reagan Republicans won’t endorse a candidate in the Coeur d’Alene School Board Zone 5 race between Tom Hearn and Bjorn Handeen. Handeen, a Republican precinct committeeman, asked the Reagan Republicans not to endorse him, according to my sources. Also, Huckleberries hears that Handeen has asked Duncan Koler’s Citizens for Better Education, which backed Trustees Tom Hamilton and Terri Seymour in the 2011 elections, not to endorse him. Handeen has ties to the United Conservatives of North Idaho. The Reagan Republicans have endorsed appointed Trustee Brent Regan, who is running against Christa Hazel, and appointed Trustee Ann Seddon, who is running against Dave Eubanks.
Update: It’s official. In Kootenai Weekly Conservative, the Reagan Republicans announced their endorsements for school boards in Coeur d’Alene (Brent Regan & Ann Seddon) and Post Falls (Glorie Ward & Carole goodman). The RRs will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at 4927 Camden Place/CdA to walk precincts for their Coeur d’Alene School Board candidates. The RRs also endorsed Jim Pierce and Donna Montgomery for Kootenai Hospital Board.
