Huckleberries Hears …
Huckleberries has learned that Capt. Ron Clark has been named to replace retiring Police Chief Wayne Longo until the city can conduct a nationwide search, likely to begin in early 2014. Longo will retire Sept. 30. A quick check of Clark’s background shows that he has worked in the police department for 28 years, the last 10 of which supervising the investigations, evidence and services departments. Also, he has supervised every division within the police department. Clark has an associate’s degree in law enforcement from Spokane Community Colleges, a bachelor’s degree in business management from Lewis-Clark State College. In 2003, he graduated from the FBI Command College.
