Monday Wild Card 8.12.13
Dave is off for the week, enjoying some much-needed family time.
I have a question for you. When you meet someone in a social setting do you often ask them where they work or what they do for a living? I’m pondering this because I think it’s a fairly typical ice-breaker type conversation starter— at least in America.
However, I was taken aback this weekend when I asked a woman my age that question and she replied, “I work from home.” Of course I wanted to know more. I’m a journalist, I always want to know more, but I refrained from further inquiry.
What do you think? Ask or no?
