Choking On Chokecherries

On his Facebook page, SR photog Jesse Tinsley posts: ” On a nature hike with author/historian Jack Nisbet and a group of elementary school teachers, I learned what chokecherries are, just how sour they are. These were blooming vigrously because they’re in an area of the Dishman Hills Natural area with sprinklers. Indians used to gather them, pound pulp and seeds into a gritty paste and mix them with meat and roots, then dry them into palm-sized ‘cookies’ to eat later.”

Question: What’s your favorite kind of berry/cherry?
