Jeff: Know Where Donation Is Going

Jeff Conroy of St. Vincent de Paul’s posts the following on his Facebook wall: “The weather is cold and it’s that time of year where businesses, families and individuals want to make a difference for others during the holidays. There are a lot of great nonprofits in our communities and all are working to improve the lives in others. PLEASE make sure you know where your donation is going. PLEASE know for yourself that it’s staying on our community to serve those in our community. Tell the nonprofit where you want your money to go do. It’s called designating your funds and your money has to go there. Too many nonprofits have money going to Boise, Spokane or somewhere else in the country. Visit the nonprofits, know the nonprofits. I’ve been working in the nonprofit world in this area for almost 20 years and am still amazed and proud at the support this area gives. I love where I live!”
