Bloem & Co. To Ring Red Kettle Bell
In this 2011 photo from the Salvation Army Kroc Center Facebook wall that was published on Huckleberries, Mayor Bloem is shown at her post by a Red Kettle at Fred Meyer. With her is Charlie Miller of the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation, and the sixth-grade choir of Lakes Middle School.
For the final time as Mayor, Sandi Bloem will kickoff Mayors’ Day at the Red Kettle at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fred Meyer in Coeur d’Alene. Mayor Bloem will be followed by Post Falls Mayor-Elect Ron Jacobson at 11 a.m. and Coeur d’Alene Mayor-Elect Steve Widmyer at 2 p.m. A team of energetic volunteers will staff Salvation Army Red Kettles the entire day at Fred Meyer collecting donations for needy youth and families in Kootenai County. When the final bell is rung at 8 p.m., all contributions collected at the Red Kettle will be totaled and matched by Fred Meyer, up to $5,000/Erin Braudrick, Salvation Army. More here.
Question: Have you ever given money to a Red Kettle, (wo)manned by a celebrity bell ringer?
