Obit: County Clerk Cliff Hayes, 62

Clifford T. Hayes, 62, passed away in his home near Post Falls on December 12, 2013. Cliff was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on May 24, 1951. He was raised in Lakewood, California, and he attended Lakewood High School and Long Beach City College. He served in the National Guard before moving to Post Falls in 1982. Cliff began his career in public service as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Post Falls Fire Department. He became a dispatcher at the Post Falls Police Department in 1983. His law enforcement career spanned 26 years and included time as both a Patrol Officer and Detective Sergeant. Cliff was promoted to Chief of Police in 1987. Complete obituary here.
