Police, mayor not helping

The nearly 70 percent vote taken last February indicated to me a distrust of the Spokane Police Department and our city government. These recent negotiations by the Police Guild and Mayor David Condon are not improving my level of trust. It appears to be another attempt to maintain control and secrecy.

Nearly 70 percent of our residents were clear that they wanted a transparent and independent investigative power for the ombudsman. How could that independence hurt our city unless the Police Guild and Condon continue to believe they need the power to control (and cover up) the facts, as was done in the past?

Their behavior is only increasing my distrust.
