Sickness Cancels Alaska Flights

Fifteen Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights were canceled Sunday and at least nine were canceled Monday due to crews that were too sick to fly, an airline official told KGW. “Cold and flu season has hit a lot of [crews] in the last day and a half – particularly Horizon Air crews,” said an Alaska Airlines spokeswoman. “There are a high number of pilots and attendants too sick to fly.” Alaska Airlines was asking crews to work on their days off and switching flights to bigger planes.
