Senior supports schools

Yesterday, along with other junk mail, I received a flier, “Reject New Taxes,” from Citizens for Responsible Taxation, 5428 S. Regal St. I sent the following reply:

Dear Citizens,

Would you like to explain why you people on the South Hill believe that you should tell East Valley people not to support their children to the extent of 75 cents a day? That’s less than a cup of coffee or a can of pop on a $200,000 home.

You quote the 25-year total, making it seem much more than it is. I am a senior citizen with no family members in school here, but I have been in some of the schools. The need is there. Our local school board has spent many hours studying the needs. I am voting for the education and safety of my neighbors’ children and hope that East Valley citizens join me, voting for the school bond.
