Vote for your library

It has been my fortune to live in Spokane for some 55 years, where I have loved and appreciated our libraries. Our three children used the libraries constantly from the time they were very small, whether it was in their school or the public library, and benefited from books and the staff being an important part of their lives.

Every time I even walk in a library, there is a sense of goodness and calm. And then I start looking at all the books, videos, tapes, computers, and the children and adults that are happily doing the same.

Spokane is blessed to have these beneficial facilities and my wish is that they could be open more often for the use of each of us.

I urge all citizens to vote in favor of the library levy on or before Feb. 12. Our community is enhanced and served well by your yes vote.
