Man who would be king

Note to Michael Burnett on his Jan. 17 letter to the editor, “Obama ignores Constitution.” Well said! He is absolutely right. President Obama frequently tries and does establish policy that he himself does not intend to follow. Mr. Burnett’s example: Obama has security guards who use guns to protect his family, yet will readily take them away from others trying to do the same.

Aside from this duplicity, just over half of Americans voted for a man who, as Laura Hollis, law professor at Notre Dame, notes, “for the past four years … has increased unemployment, economic stagnation, skyrocketing prices, the depression of the dollar, the collapse of foreign policy, Benghazi, hopelessly inept responses to natural disasters … all tied directly to his statist philosophies and decisions.”

Obama began his first term as president with an apology tour. He talks about pride in his country but inconsistently puts his hand over his heart when the flag is presented, panders to the people and his current situation. I see arrogance at every opportunity. He is the man who would be king. This is who just over half of Americans voted for. The rest of us are still shaking our heads.
