U-Dem: Run, Mike, Run

Unapologetic Democrat: Where did you hear that rumor about Mike Kennedy not seeking re-election? If so that is unfortunate in my opinion.

DFO: Certainly not from Mike himself. A lot of people are speculating that he’d be foolish to put himself through another 4 years like the last 4 when he was sued after winning an election by a handful of votes. His business also is prospering, demanding a lot of time. And he has a young, growing family. Also, I doubt that his wife would want him to go through the type of battering he has over the last 8 years. He remains Public Enemy No. 1 in almost all the Republican factions, which can’t stand to see a bonafide Democrat in any elected position in the county.

Question: Of the four council members facing re-election in the fall — Mayor Sandi Bloem and council members Mike Kennedy, Woody McEvers and Deanna Goodlander — who do you expect to see run again?
