Volunteers helping keep Idaho state parks open in lean times

Fred Ramsey, along with his wife, Lavon Ramsey, have spent the last 28 summers volunteering for the interpretive programs at several Idaho State Parks. They are responsible for organizing the evening programs and day activities at Priest Lake State Park. They live in Grants Pass, Ore., the rest of the year (The Spokesman-Review)

PARKS — Idaho’s state parks are staying open thanks in part to thousands of volunteers, the state’s parks chief told lawmakers this morning.
