Guv Tax Plan Could Cost NIC $793K
Kevin Richert/ The EDge blog reports :
The personal property tax — and its possible repeal — touches every local government entity that collects a piece of the property tax. And since every means every , that means Idaho’s community colleges also have some skin in the game. Community colleges are funded from a pastiche of revenue sources: student fees, state funding and local property taxes. So, according to the State Tax Commission , here’s how much the three community colleges collected in 2012 from this tax on business supplies and equipment, targeted for repeal by Gov. Butch Otter and some business leaders:
- North Idaho College: $793,338.
- College of Southern Idaho: $554,180.
- College of Western Idaho: $503,474.
