Unions taking prisoners

Recently I noticed some pressure in The Spokesman-Review to hire and pay more cops what they want. Where does it say you have to pay all of the city workers $100,000 plus million-dollar pensions?

If the fire and police unions price themselves out of the market, that’s their problem. Most of us local taxpayers are trying to get by and putting cheap gas in our cars. I’m still waiting for the day we have $1 million police and fire chiefs.

If Shawn Vestal wants leadership for more cops, he should get his checkbook out and put his money where his mouth is.

Mayor David Condon is doing an excellent job representing the people of Spokane and doesn’t have to be held hostage to these money-grubbing unions.
