Post Falls Mayor Won’t Run Again
Post Falls Mayor Clay Larkin announced today that he will not seek re-election and will retire at the end of his current term in January 2014. Larkin said, “The City is doing well. We have a solid and dedicated staff led by
City Administrator Shelly Enderud, so I feel this is a good time for me to step down and spend more time with my family and enjoy retirement.” He added, “I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to serve my community, both as mayor for 12 ½ years and five years as councilor. I am proud of the things we have accomplished.” Larkin said he plans to finish out his current term but wanted to announce his decision not to run to allow potential candidates time to consider running for mayor. … Clay Larkin was first appointed as Mayor of Post Falls in January 2001. He was elected Mayor in November 2001 and took office in January 2002. He is currently serving his third term as Mayor. Before becoming Mayor, he served 5 years on the City Council.
