Jesus’ agenda not liberal

In a July 14 letter, Ed Simpson says, “If He were alive today, Jesus would be a liberal and respect everyone’s views, not just his own.” Perhaps, but that’s certainly not to imply that Jesus would agree with everyone’s views.

For instance, when Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6), that doesn’t leave much wiggle room for other views, whether religious, political or otherwise. Politicians and various religious groups may have their agendas, but Jesus has one and one only: “To seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).
