Disappointed in Tucker

Steve Tucker, I am very disappointed in your actions in charging Gail Gerlach with a crime.

For many years I have voted and supported you as Spokane County prosecutor. I met you at a fundraiser over 15 years ago. I have been a vocal supporter with neighbors and friends ever since. I am now kicking myself because of your recent actions.

I feel very strongly that you have lost touch with what is going on in the Spokane community. I have never met Gerlach, but I can see that he was not trying to shoot this thug in a way to kill him; he was trying to stop a crime against him in progress. If you can’t see this, then you lack understanding that the Spokane community is tired of crime.

How are we going to be served by the prosecution of Gerlach? Will our community be safer with Gerlach impoverished and in jail? What about his family? Is this good stewardship of taxpayer monies?

Your decision is monumental in my view of you as a public servant. It is my opinion that you should correct your actions or resign.

Thank you for your past service.
