Out With A Bang

Workers at the ABCD Day Care at 1124 C Street, near Forest Cemetery, call 911 moments ago to report three gun shots nearby. The workers had ushered the children into the Day Care and locked the doors moments earlier. An officer investigating the call reported back to dispatch that there was a military funeral going on at the cemetery — and the shots were part of the military salute in honor of the departed veteran, whom, I believe, was former two-term Coeur d’Alene mayor Ray Stone, a World War II veteran who helped liberate a German concentration camp. Ray always could shake things up even when he didn’t intend to do so. Going to miss that guy.
