Qualifying In The Nick Of Time

Oh her Facebook wall, FBF Michelle Raffety provides the back story for the last Ironman contestant to qualify before midnight: ” While volunteering at Ironman, Kathy Chalich (of Spokane, right) helped this wonderful woman Marsha Ward (from Atlanta) run the last 5 miles. She was having a hard time running because she tweaked her back and Kathy held her up and cheered her on. She ended up running the last 5 miles of the race and I am so proud to call her my best friend! Kathy’s not a runner, but she made it her mission to make sure she finished on time. Marsha crossed the finish line at 11:59 (the deadline is midnight to be an actual “Ironman”). The crowd cheered as they crossed the line! It was inspiring!”
