PM: Carrying Special Olympics Torch

Former Idaho Special Olympics Team member Loretta Lyon of Rathdrum carries the Olympic torch along with ISP trooper Allan Ashby at Riverstone Park in Coeur d’Alene earlier today. She was part of the Special Olympics golf team that went to Greece in 2011. North Idaho law enforcement officers initiated the ceremonial “Torch Run” to coincide with Special Olympics festivities that traditionally take place in Southern Idaho. Officers from throughout North Idaho including City, State, County, Federal and Tribal also participate in the Torch Run to show support to over 2,700 athletes statewide. KHQ story here.
