Risch, Labrador No On Violence Act
Idaho’s Republican representatives in the U.S. House split their votes Thursday as the House passed an expanded version of the Violence Against Women Act. Rep. Mike Simpson voted “aye,” joining 86 other Republicans and 199 Democrats to pass the measure, while Rep. Raul Labrador voted “no,” along with 137 other Republicans in a losing effort. On the U.S. Senate side, Sen. Mike Crapo—one of the measure’s lead GOP sponsors—voted “aye” while Sen. Jim Risch voted “no.” The bill will now head to President Barack Obama’s desk for his signature/ George Prentice , Boise Weekly. More here.
