Chiefs extend lead

Mitch Holmberg scored his 38th goal, which ranks second on the team, and Brenden Kichton picked up his team-high 59th assist as the Spokane Chiefs scored once in the second period to increase their lead over the Prince George Cougars to 4-0 at the Arena on Tuesday night. Spokane is keeping its eye on the Tri-City Americans, who trail Seattle 4-2 after two periods. Spokane and Tri-City are tied for fourth place in the WHL’s Western Conference with 84 points apiece.
