A judge at my precinct for the School District levy election Tuesday had some questions re: Huckleberries:

• What does BOSS mean? A — It’s the system used on I-90/H95 to detect stolen vehicles, licenses, trailers, etc.
• Is the Coeur d’Alene Police Department activities report available to the general public? A — I suppose. But I get it daily (and post it on Scanner Traffic) from the police department, along with daily crime reports.
• Do you write the Scanner Traffic directly off police scanners at the office? (A — Yes. I have 2 scanners working at the same time — the new digital one that tracks frequencies switched to the digital system last year and an old portable one that still provides about a third of my posts.
• Are you planning to retire soon? (A — Not as long as I’m still having fun.)
