Support sports complex
I want to express my support for the proposed sports facility/arena in Coeur d’Alene and the use of redevelopment money to get this project off the ground. I live in Coeur d’Alene in the summer and fall months and am always sorry to see the vitality of our Lake City taper way off in the winter. This arena concept would be the perfect economic and cultural stimulus for those winter months.
I can envision basketball tournaments, trade shows such as gun and hobby shows, car shows and multiple other activities. These would go a long way toward filling our hotels, restaurants, retail and service providers, and give tourists a reason to journey to Coeur d’Alene in these months, too.
The Coeur d’Alene community has done a magnificent job developing an appealing area – examples, the library, Kroc Center, the resort, Riverstone and the parks, to name a few. An arena would serve to enhance Coeur d’Alene and the surrounding area even further.
