Ain’t No One Named ‘David’ Here
Am I the only one who notices that receptionists and nurses at doctor’s offices, dental offices and eye-care offices call you by your proper first name — in my case, David. Not Dave. Certainly not D.F. But David, just like my family does. Mebbe they’ve been burned by calling an individual by a shortened form of your name, like Bob for Robert. Or Rich for Richard. Sorta bugs me. But not enough to say anything about it. How about you?
Question: Do you mind being called by your proper first name by a stranger at a doctor/dental/eye office?
