Packed House Watching CSD Talks
Huckleberries hears … that a packed house of 175-200 teachers at Woodland Middle School is watching negotiations between the Coeur d’Alene School Board and Coeur d’Alene Education Association representatives at this moment. The two sides are discussing salaries and benefits, in face of an expected $3M in pending budget cuts. Teachers and community members have expressed concern re: direction of the School District. Teacher rep Tim Sanford tells board: “What you offered us is as low as you can go. It is rock bottom. Almost nothing lower that you could have offered.”
