Wanted: Progressive Conservatism
DTSinIdaho
(RE:
Jeff Squared: How come we lost?
) “I think people want conservatism, but also equality, and progressive leadership. That may sound like an oxymoron, but Progressive-Conservatism, is what the city needs. Someone that wants Coeur d’Alene to be even better, but with a firm grip on the costs involved.
DFO: Dave is onto something here. I want a good accounting of revenue spent but I also want the city of Coeur d’Alene to continue to better itself when an opportunity arises, like McEuen Field, the Education Corridor, the Kroc Center and the future Four Corners project. I haven’t seen my property taxes go up much, despite all the whining to the contrary by the CAVErs and RRavers. Meanwhile, I’ve seen marvelous projects that will be celebrated by generations to come. We’re going to leave this place better for future generations. That’s a better message than all the negativity and character assassinations of partisan candidates for local office.
Question: Is progressive conservatism an oxymoron?
