Obama likes drones too much

In an Oct. 23 article, “Reports dispute drone claims,” White House press secretary Jay Carney claims, “U.S. counterterrorism operations are precise.” Human rights activists claim 51 civilians were killed in six drone strikes in Yemen. In Vietnam, our air-to-ground missiles had a kill zone of 100 meters/yards. Now, we are being led to believe that our Hellfire missiles are like a bullet; only killing those targeted, with no civilian deaths. Can’t happen. The Hellfire missile must have enough high explosive to be effective, so there have to be civilian deaths.

From The Spokesman-Review: “57 civilian deaths in 6 Yemen strikes,” “Collateral damage,” as we call it now. After President Barack Obama killed Osama bin Laden, he discovered that he liked killing. The drones give him the ability to kill at will, and he enjoys it. He has ordered hundreds of drone strikes, and Obama’s silent death from above pleases him.

He ordered a decoration for his drone pilots that superseded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart – combat decorations. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, a combat veteran, scotched that proposal.

Yes, I voted for Obama, and now I’m sorry.
