Democrats responsible

On Nov. 14, President Obama issued an executive order allowing people to maintain their current insurance for another year, even though he legally has no authority to do that. Though his stated reason is to assist people in transitioning to Obamacare from losing needed coverage and incurring huge premium increases, his real purpose is to ensure that the Democrats do not lose the Senate in 2014.

It has taken more than a year for insurance companies to comply with the Obamacare provisions. They will not be able to respond to this change for months at the earliest, and it will cost them millions. This will allow Democrats, and especially those up for re-election that voted for Obamacare, to shift the blame for this nightmare over to the uncaring and greedy insurance companies.

I’m not a fan of insurance companies – they were willing accomplices to the passage of Obamacare – but the Democrats own this debacle and should be held responsible for it at the ballot box in 2014.
