Hearn: No Where To Go But Up

Chairman Tom Hearn of the Coeur d’Alene School Board (RE: School officials thrilled by Luna budget proposal ):  “I certainly hope our legislature restores funding to the schools. State funding levels are below what they were in 2009. This restoration of state funding would also relieve pressure on the school board to have to go to the local property tax payers for maintenance and operations levys to fund schools. Our students and teachers deserve our support by funding schools well. Gee maybe we can even go from nearly last place in the nation in our per student funding of public schools to somewhere higher up the list.”

Question: I’m sorry. I don’t trust Luna. Is he trying to butter up to teachers and school officials by proposing a decent budget, after attempting to foist the Luna Laws on the state?
