DFO: McEuen Makeover Impressive

I’m back from the McEuen Field walking tour. I have one bit of advice for Mary Souza, Dan Gookin, Frank Orzell & everyone else who fought the McEuen Field make-over — Pray for rain Saturday. The more people who get feet on the new & improving McEuen, the more votes you lose. I had no idea the size of the park. And how the many amenities will play out, until I joined other media types in walking through the many features, parking garage, Front Avenue promenade and even through what will be the future Fourth Street rainbow entrance. (I’m still straight despite that experience). The new park will have an additional 3.5 acres of space. But it feels so much larger than that. Scott Maben will be back with is report sometime this afternoon. Kathy Plonka snapped a bunch of photos. If you’re a person who believes in the future of this community, insist that your skeptical friends visit the park open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. It may change how they view the anti-park propaganda/ DFO.
