Only 5 of 8 Show At Demo Debate
Only 5 of the 8 candidates running for Coeur d’Alene City Council attended the candidates’ forum sponsored by the Kootenai County Democratic Club luncheon today — and only 1 of the 3 Reagan Republican endorsed candidates. Amy Evans and Chris Fillios, the two candidates for the seat now held by Councilman Mike Kennedy participated in the hour-long discussion, as did incumbent Woody McEvers and Amber Copeland and Kiki Miller. Missing from the McEvers/Copeland race was Reagan Republican endorsee Sharon Hebert. Miller was the only one who participated in the race for the seat now held by Councilwoman Deanna Goodlander. Neither Reagan Republican endorsee Noel Adam or Gary Herfurth attended the debate in her race.
Question: I give Chris Fillios props for attending the debate — and even telling Democrats that his personal heroes are Republicans Ronald Reagan and Rudy Giuliani. Also, he said he considers the debate to equivalent to a job interview. Does that mean fellow Reagan Republican/ReclaimCDA endorsees Hebert and Adam failed to show up for their job interviews. The two do know that, if elected, they would represent Democrats, too, right?
