Doty: Mary Was Against ‘Process’
In his neighborhood, James Doty, campaign treasurer for Mary Souza, is circulating a letter that claims, among other things:
Mary Souza was not against the library, the Kroc Center, or the Educational Corridor, as many would have you believe. She was against the process and the expenditure of incredibly large sums of tax payer monies without at least a vote of the people. Using LCDC (which is 100% tax payer money) as the private piggy bank to fund these projects is where she drew a line in the sand and she demanded that the public be given a chance to weigh in. Clearly, the primary focus and value of these expenditures are for the benefit of the downtown property and business owners. All the property tax payers contribute, but the majority of the benefit is for a select few. More here.
Question: It’s always about the process and never about the project, hunh?
