Brig. Gen. Alan Gayhart, retired, presents a U.S. Flag to Brenda Daehling of Dalton, Mass., earlier today during the 4th annual memorial service at the Idaho Fallen Soldier Memorial in Boise. Mrs. Daehling is the mother of Idaho soldier Mitchell Daehling who was killed in Afghanistan in May. Dignitaries, veterans, honor guards, patriots and the families of four soldiers gathered to honor the sacrifice of 66 soldiers in a ceremony that unveiled etchings of the most recent soldiers who gave their lives in service to their country: Mitchell Daehling, Octavio Herrera, Thomas Murach and Shane Wilson.
