Something’s Happening Here …

Add Spokesman-Review on Google

… What it is ain’t exactly clear. Huckleberries hears from Councilman Dan Gookin … that the city of Coeur d’Alene has dug up some gates and other parts of the old seawall that once protected the Fortgrounds area from flooding. You may have seen the digging going on at the south end of the North Idaho Museum. Apparently, the city is going to insert gates along the existing seaway and extentions that’ll raise the wall to 6 feet on Sept. 30, to please FEMA. It’s not clear to me how long the wall will be in place — and whether it will block the view of Lake Coeur d’Alene, which, of course, will be a deal breaker.

DFO: Dan, are you out there, to provide a clearer understanding of what’s happening here? Inquiring minds would like to know.
