Obama has done plenty
After reading Hal Dixon’s rant (“A different change,” Sept. 15), it’s obvious to me who has been fooled.
The list of President Barack Obama’s accomplishments in light of the nonstop obstruction coming from those on the right in Congress is impressive. Starting with the Affordable Health Care Act, passing the stimulus, turning around the U.S. auto industry, passing Wall Street reform, eliminating Osama bin Laden, toppling Moammar Gadhafi, almost 4 million private sector jobs created – the list goes on and on. And this was just during his first term.
Since then, he’s reduced military spending, increased veterans’ benefits, has instituted a smaller government and brought taxes for the average working family to their lowest since 1950, again, a list too numerous to mention.
President Obama has strengthened personal liberties, improved the economy and reduced the debt, invested in education and protected what we eat, drink and breathe, and he’s made America a much safer place than his predecessor.
Neoconservatives refuse to look at facts and instead focus their energy on what they perceive as scandals. We haven’t been fooled by the past six years of hope and change; we’ve been enlightened and encouraged.
