Stand up for food aid

I would like to stand up for food stamps. I believe that social consideration is a hallmark of a democratic society and that the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program is a wonderful, socially considerate program. As the greatest man has taught us, what good can arise if one among us is lacking in food.

I would urge our governor to follow this sage advice and override the potential federal cuts to food stamps that would ultimately take $90 a month away from our most vulnerable families. In other words, as Jesus would say, “For I was hungry and you fed me. …”
